Yes. I'll get eric to add them to the L&S PS list. But that will be from the May show.
Yes Kas, they will end up in the Russian section eventually.

Yes well you have Lilly to thank for these. If she hadn't noticed the founder buck in my bottom rack of cages then I probably wouldn't have bred them. He fell out of a outcross I was doing on my plats and I kept him because he was an interesting colour and I thought that he had enough dilutes in him to help the plats.
Unfortunately, the coppers are no longer carrying plat.

Can I ask what they are genetically? Was getting confused when chatting with Jo about them as I thought they have only one copy of RED but Jo's bestest girl, Ruby, Jo thought was fully RED? Or is the ruby eye coming from dilute but not being full RED

?

They only have one copy of RED, the ones with two copies look like Russian topaz.
They are A+,mm,rbrb,Rr. Some of them are also homozygous for chocolate.
They are dark ruby to black eye colour.
The ones with no lilac ticking, just a pale silvery ticking, often have light ruby eyes but they're not coppers.

Ah that makes sense! Thanks. I thought it was only one copy but I'd rather check

My litter has matured a fair bit now and I thought it might be helpful to show Copper next to Russian Dove Agouti to show the difference in colours

Thank you, I have Ann and Sam to thank for the wonderful starters. I am just so excited I can see the copper colour properly now. They took quite a while to warm up so were all quite light and grey as kittens. Telling them apart from RDA was such a challenge (I needed Ann's help haha) but now I can see it myself. They are 10 weeks old in this photo. I would say it took about 9 weeks for the warmth to start showing itself properly for us. I imagine some may still change yet, their dad didn't look copper until he was about 12 weeks old lol.

In the above pics Sarah, is the copper the more orangey one and the RDA the more grey one?
